Our body is a housing for our Vasanas (Sanskrit for our conditioning) and Samskaras (negative impressions) and through the practices of yoga and meditation we release these energies. When meditating, often imagery can be seen, memories become present and slightly distorted. In this art a screen print of a very old film photograph was used as a base for screening in a transcending movement similar to what the mind does in meditation, revealing the photograph only slightly.
This piece is a powerful reminder that we are not our conditioning, our experiences or our memories and are so much more than that, we are consciousness in human form.
